About Us
Connecting community insight to strategic decisions and policy influence since 2018.

A network built on insight, practice, and strategic connection.
NSDation is a collective of practitioners, researchers, and facilitators working for long-term change. We partner with communities, local actors, and organisations to co-create strategies that respond to real needs and shift the systems behind them.
Rooted in the values of inclusion, integrity, and transformation, we use participatory and politically aware approaches. From field-based research to strategic reviews, we connect evidence with action.
People
A trusted and diverse group of local researchers, facilitators, technical experts, and the communities we engage with.
Knowledge
Rich learning from evaluations, consultations, and community-led work across regions and crises.
Engagement Spaces
Where people and knowledge come together in honest dialogue, co-created solutions, and shared strategy thinking.
Our Story
We started by asking one honest question.
In 2018, we were sitting in cold prefab containers in northern Syria, walking through destroyed neighbourhoods in Türkiye, joining quiet group discussions in community centres in Ukraine. We showed up with a notebook and a lot of curiosity. We weren’t trying to fix anything. We were there to understand. To ask: what do people need? what’s working? what’s not? And over and over, people told us:
"We are tired of being asked the same questions. We speak, but no one listens."
So while our work began with evaluations and field assessments, it was never just about data. It was about making sure what people said actually made it back to decision-makers and changed something.
As we delivered more projects, we started noticing patterns. Across countries and sectors, the same gaps kept showing up. Community voices were still seen as feedback, not strategy. Programmes were still being designed far from the people they were meant to serve. And so, we began to shift.
We started asking deeper questions: Why do these patterns repeat? Who gets to define what success looks like? What would it take to centre communities, not just consult them?
We worked with local organisations and civil society networks, not just as data collectors or translators, but as co-leaders. We also found ourselves invited into conversations with donors and INGOs, helping them reflect, adapt, and sometimes rethink.
By 2020, we weren’t just doing evaluations, we were helping organisations learn, design, and strategise. We supported localisation plans, developed accountability mechanisms, facilitated pause-and-reflect workshops. Our network of consultants and collaborators grew, researchers, trainers, facilitators, many of them people we met during those early field visits. And through it all, our core stayed the same:We listen. We connect. We care. Now in 2025, we’re shaping our next chapter as NSDation – the Network for Strategic Development. We're not just an organisation, we're a collective, grounded in community realities and focused on influencing how things work at every level.
We’re still small. Still agile. But now we work across countries and sectors, helping organisations ask better questions, hear what matters, and plan for real, lasting change.Because we believe:If you start by listening deeply, you end up somewhere better.

Where we work
Grounded in the places we work
We work across conflict-affected and fragile contexts in the MENA Region, Africa and Europe. Our presence is built on field relationships, not remote analysis.
Values
Guided by our core principles
Local Leadership & Inclusion
We believe lasting change starts with those closest to the challenges.“Network” for us means working with, not on behalf of, communities and local organisations. We prioritise collaboration, shared ownership, and inclusion in everything we do.
Integrity & Accountability
Our commitment to strategic development means we stay grounded in evidence, ethics, and context. We don’t follow trends — we focus on what matters. We’re transparent in our process, open in our learning, and accountable to those we work with and for.
Transformation over Transaction
We’re not here for one-off reports or surface-level outputs. We work to shift systems, challenge assumptions, and support long-term thinking. Our aim is to contribute to meaningful transformation — in how programmes are shaped, how power is shared, and how impact is measured.
